Spokeo in Emera's care homes: from a pilot to a 45-site rollout
Emera Group, one of Europe's leading networks of senior living residences and care homes, has chosen to roll out our hearing assistant across all 45 of its French-speaking homes to improve communication with hard-of-hearing residents.

The context
Hearing loss affects a majority of residents in care homes. It complicates care, weakens the bond with families and speeds up isolation. Many residents no longer wear hearing aids, because they are hard to handle, uncomfortable or simply forgotten. For care teams, it is a daily obstacle: repeating, raising your voice, without always being understood.
A pilot on 5 sites, then a rollout across 45
After a pilot in 5 homes, Emera Group is rolling out Spokeo across all 45 of its French-speaking homes, in mainland France, in the French overseas departments and territories, in Switzerland and in Belgium.
The principle reverses the usual logic: it is not the resident who is fitted with a device. The caregiver or relative wears a directional lapel microphone, and a bi-conduction headset is placed on the resident. No settings, no complex handling, no prescription. An approach particularly suited to residents with cognitive impairment, for whom wearing and maintaining a conventional hearing aid is often impossible.
